Design and Analysis of Experiments in the Health Sciences

Gerald van Belle and Kathleen F Kerr. John Wiley & Sons, 2012.

This book is an introduction to experimental design aimed at students and researchers in the health sciences. Five chapters are dedicated to five types of designs and extensions that form the basis for more experimental structures. Each of the designs is discussed under the same eight headings: Description; Randomization; Hypothesis and Sample Size; Estimation and Analysis; Example; Notes; and Problems. There are two "specialty'' chapters on clinical trials and on gene expression microarrays.
